The BioDome

A 6 Tiered 4-phase filtering system.

1) The Biodome ACB is a mass activated carbon bed cell adsorbs virtually all gases and odors that pass through it.
 Adsorbing is the process by which  activated carbon captures gases and odors 

2) The True HEPA cell traps the airborne particles. These filters were developed by the Atomic Energy Commission to trap radioactive
particles. They are rated to capture 99.99% of particles as small as 0.3 microns.

3) The anti-microbial and Electrostatic filters kill the airborne microbes that pass through them.

Activated Carbon is the only safe, effective way to trap noxious gases and odors.
The technology used in military gas masks to keep our troops safe.

What it does and how it works.
Activated carbon is carbon that has been treated with oxygen to open up millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms.

Adsorption
Adsorbtion is the process where certain chemicals are attracted to activated carbon and then bond to it.
The millions of pores in the activated carbon provide an enormous surface area to trap these chemicals.
 1 lb of granular activated carbon typically provides a surface area of 125 acres.
 Our ACB carbon cells mean the air has to pass through the length of the
entire cell, unlike "donut" style filters that only filter the width of the "donut" wall.
